Detailed Description

The kit is ideal for cleaning garments made of smooth and brushed leather, motorcycle suits, gloves, as well as sheepskins and furs.

• Leather Fixative is essential when washing multi-colored items (e.g., a combination of white and black leather) or when combining leather with fabric where there is a risk of dye transfer to the lining.

• Leather & Fur Wash Concentrate is a versatile product that can be used for hand washing and in the washing machine. When the recommended temperature and procedure are followed, the leather will not harden, shrink, and will remain supple.

Important Warnings Before Washing

• Heavy Soiling: Pre-soak greasy areas (collar, cuffs) and gently clean with a brush and a little washing concentrate.

• Multi-colored Leather: Always use the Leather Fixative to prevent unwanted color transfer.

• Sorting: Never wash differently colored leather pieces together – wash only items of identical color.

• Changes After Washing: Original signs of wear or fading may become more visible after cleaning. Some types of leather (poorly fixed dyes or greasy surfaces) may slightly change appearance after washing.

• Sensitive Materials: For exotic leathers, antique pieces, or very delicate furs, we recommend professional cleaning.

• Accessories: Secure loosely attached buttons or appliqués or wash by hand.

Instructions for Use

1. Using the Fixative (Leather Fixative)

Do not use the fixative in the washing machine, but in a separate container.

• Dosage: ½ bottle for approx. 5–10 liters of lukewarm water (for smaller pieces); the entire bottle for a complete motorcycle suit.

• Procedure: Completely submerge the leather item, let it soak for at least 60 minutes and move it regularly. Then let it drain – do not rinse! – and immediately place it in the washing machine.

• Tip: Test colorfastness with a damp light cloth. If the cloth becomes stained, using the fixative is essential.

2. Hand Washing with Concentrate

Suitable for smooth leather, brushed leather (suede, nubuck), and furs. Not suitable for open-pore leather.

• Dosage: 1/3 to ½ bottle for 10–15 liters of lukewarm water (max. 35 °C). For large items (coats, suits) use the entire bottle.

• Procedure: Soak for approx. 30 minutes and wash gently. Use the included brush for stubborn stains. Finally, rinse briefly with clean water.

• Note: Do not rinse out the product completely – residue of the concentrate in the leather supports its later suppleness.

3. Machine Washing with Concentrate

Suitable for "Wool" or "Delicate Wash" programs (max. 35 °C).

• Dosage: 1/3 to ½ bottle into the main wash compartment (entire bottle for large items).

• Procedure: Wash at a temperature up to 35 °C. Set only a short spin cycle (if possible), otherwise remove the garment before the final spin. After washing, thoroughly shake out the folds and let it air dry freely.

Drying Process (Key to Softness)

• Never dry in a heated dryer or in direct sunlight! Drying may take several days.

• Dry heavy items horizontally on towels.

• Important: During drying (while the leather is still slightly damp) thoroughly knead and stretch it (break it in) several times to restore its softness.

• After completely drying, knead the leather firmly in your hands in both directions once more.

• Nubuck and Suede: After drying, brush the surface to restore the typical nap of the leather.
