COLOURLOCK Old Leather Softener  is a special oil designed to restore elasticity to hardened, shrunk, or brittle leather. Over time and due to neglected maintenance, leather fibers can become matted and dried out, leading to cracking. This product penetrates deep into the material's structure, loosens stiffened fibers, and restores the necessary suppleness to the leather.

Instructions for use

1. Preparation: First, thoroughly clean the leather surface (e.g., with COLOURLOCK Mild/Strong Cleaner) and let it dry.

2. Work sequence: If the leather requires crack repairs using liquid leather, perform them before applying the softener.

3. Application: Apply the Softener to a sponge or soft cloth and rub it evenly over the leather surface. Tip: If possible (e.g., with removed upholstery), apply the product from the reverse side of the leather – absorption will be more effective.

4. Action time: After application, let the leather rest for at least 24 hours at room temperature.

5. Mechanical processing: After each layer, gently "massage" the leather, bend it, and knead it in your hands. This mechanical movement helps loosen the fibers.

6. Repetition: Repeat the process if necessary, but a maximum of 3 times. A maximum of 1 liter of product is consumed for a complete hardened vehicle interior.

7. Finishing: If you plan to dye the leather afterwards, the surface must be degreased again. Finally, treat the leather with a preservative.

Warning:

• Shake well before use!

• Sensitivity test: Always test the product on a hidden area first. Observe changes in color and haptics (feel to the touch).

• Note: The Softener cannot work miracles on extremely shrunk leather (where thermal damage to proteins has occurred), but it can significantly improve the condition of dry leather.

• Storage: Protect from frost and high temperatures.
