Koch-Chemie Rkb cleaning clay (blue) is an indispensable tool for anyone serious about vehicle maintenance. Although a car may look clean after a regular wash, its surface often retains firmly embedded contaminants that you can feel under your fingertips as a rough texture. This is where the blue "clay" comes in, safely and gently "pulling" these impurities from the paint pores.
This product is the industrial standard for paint decontamination before the machine polishing process or the application of quality waxes and ceramic coatings.
The blue version is classified as fine. This means it is ideal for regular cleaning and removal of common deposits without aggressively damaging the paint. It effectively removes:
Industrial fallout (small orange dots on the paint).
Insect residues and bird droppings that have "eaten into" the paint.
Tree sap and resin.
Industrial dust and brake pad deposits.
Overspray residues from painting.
Unlike the red (hard) clay, the blue Rkb minimizes the risk of so-called "marring" (a fine hazy film or micro-scratches) that can occur during mechanical cleaning. It is therefore also suitable for beginners and for paint in good condition where subsequent aggressive polishing is not necessary.
Long lifespan: The 200 g package will last for many uses. You can divide the clay into smaller pieces (approx. 50 g), which makes work easier.
Excellent malleability: The material is pliable, easily kneaded, and adapts to the contours of the bodywork.
Safety: It can be safely used not only on paint but also on glass, chrome, and unpainted plastics (when proper lubrication is maintained).
Thorough washing: First wash and dry the vehicle. We also recommend performing chemical decontamination (with a fallout remover).
Clay preparation: Cut off a piece of clay and shape it into a patty about 5-8 cm in size in your palms.
Lubrication (Key step): Never use the clay dry! Spray a sufficient amount of lubricant onto the surface to be cleaned (ideally Koch-Chemie Clay Spray).
Cleaning: With gentle movements (without pressure!) glide the clay over the lubricated surface in an up-down or left-right direction. When you feel the clay gliding smoothly over the paint and offering no resistance, the surface is clean.
Inspection and kneading: After each section (e.g., half of the hood), check the side of the clay. If it is soiled, fold it with the dirty side inward and reshape a clean surface.
Final step: Wipe off any remaining lubricant with a microfiber towel. The paint is now ready for the next steps.
Important notice: If the clay falls on the ground, discard it immediately. Captured small stones and dust from the ground would irreversibly scratch your paint.
